  14. It really does look like nature, herself, is kind of sick our our self-awareness and our going off-script to reject its imperatives. People and nations, even, where there is no individual consciousness development, are of course going to do what fully natural, unmodified human animals do: run on narrative and innate compulsions toward filial relationships, and loyalty to an alpha male. And that structure relies on group identity. And when people don't develop intellectual autonomy, what else is there?

    This was always going to eventually happen. If you allow the existence of individuals and individual rights, some people are actually going to become individuals and your group loses power by attrition. The bright ones. The Houthis and Israelis and Gazans all know on some level that their natural enemy isn't one another. It's the individual. All of this warfare on the surface can be mutually beneficial if they want to close ranks and stifle the steady emergence of individualism.

Perhaps some will be shocked to know that two months ago, after every interception of any ship, the official Houthi spokesman came out and said – the attacks on Israeli ships will stop immediately. When bringing food, medicine and aid to the victims in the Gaza Strip – unfortunately the borders are still closed and thousands of children are dying in Gaza due to the Israeli bombing and siege.

The flag is an inanimate object but when our politicians give a speech standing beside it; all we hear is Liberty and Justice for all. It's the same as those videos with the maker and the comments alike praising the Houthi for "defending Yemen territory" even though the Houthi have only been attacking us in international waters, not Yemen territory. But, at the same time, Yemen doesn't claim those waters for itself so far as I know.

  41. The Houthis are not pirates. All they wanted was for Israel to stop the barbaric bombing of Gaza and bring medicine and food to the Palestinians, and they will stop their attacks.

  43. The simple solution was to let humanitarian aid into Gaza, as Houthis requested. How basic is that? Instead US uses bombs to prove that no one can stop us from starving millions of people if we want to. We are truly evil, no way around it.
