5. Saw this in the theater. Unreal. When I tell my friends what the war in Ukraine is like, I tell them its WW1 Trench warfare with drones. The battle went from 2D to 3D.

7. I watched a documentary on ww1, and most of the footage of the soldiers in the trenches and making an attack from the tranches are re-enactments that were stages for the press reels. After the actual battle, they would do the re enactment, so they had better footage and would mix in real footage of battles

11. Picked this up recently in an attempt to understand what my great grandfather went through (I recently inherited his medals and some other bits). Found this documentary quite moving in a lot of ways…more so than any other I’d watched in black and white. Had a profound effect on me, would encourage anyone to watch it with even a passing interest in the great war.

12. It’s shocking how much this looks like the current trench warfare in Ukraine. The only thing different is the uniforms and weapons.
