Oh well let that stand in big letters on my C4! After 17 happy years as a nurse in Senior care I can’t agree with this and they will have to fire me. I’ve taken 3 unexpected sickdays in my entire career, two more than 12 years ago and 1 more then 3 years ago but that one should have been social leaves. I am working for 12 years in the same nursing home and survived 2 covid waves,the first one i worked a month straight without decent PPA, info or help of our government. We got told we couldn’t get severely sick of it anyway. We already have staff shortages and I will hate to leave my coworkers and seniors but I’ll find something else or try working in the Netherlands if they don’t change their vaccine policy. I do wonder what we gain from this new rule,how many oldies and nurses will be saved? How many young healthy ones will leave the floor? Is this to convince the small percentage of unvaxxed or keep the big percentage of taking endless booster shots? Time will tell.
At my place there are several people that refuse to get vaccinated.
I don’t get how you can work in healthcare and decide to not get vaccinated. The people that refuse have of course done their own research and their sources are dodgy at best and outright stupid at worst. All the good, solid research points to the vaccines being safe. But then again these people are also big supporters of essantial oils and stuff.
I’m not sure what I think of a forced vaccination though.
I wonder if having fewer healthcare workers can lead to more fatalities?
They may have more knowledge of what you put in your body? Perhaps they hear doctors speak about the vaccins and don’t like what they hear? Even if it is 5%, that is still gonna be too much to fire.. but yeah, unless you work in healthcare, you won’t know what effect it’s gonna have..
Imo, they should just get fired. Yes we are in need of healthcare workers but i dont know if i really want a healthcare worker to tell me i have a headache because of the moon cycle and saturns position.
We want smart educated people in our healthcare system. If we cannot find those people right here, we should go and look for them elsewere.
There are thousands of people eager on living in the EU. I know its a hard bullet to bite, i really do, but there will be a time were we have to put our foot down on idiots fucking shit up for everyone because of their own ignorance. An international crisis seems like a good place to put that foot down a first time.

I’ve noticed that in the hospital I work at, most nurses and doctors are vaccinated and have gotten the booster, but a lot of them have already said that they won’t take a fourth one if that would become a thing.
My kid got vaccinated yesterday. I explained him in 5yo terms how beneficial that would be and was stoked AF to get it. He shows more responsibility than 50k healthcareworkers. That’s embarrassing…
