    Are kids these days all driven by cars in front of the school?

  3. Antoni Kroh (b. 1942), a great Polish ethnographer, wrote of his childhood spent for health reasons in the Tatra mountains, about how children went to school barefoot unless it was REALLY cold and about the delight of finding a fresh cow patty and warming his feet in it.

    Antoni, as a child of relatively affluent family from Kraków, had boots, but he wanted to fit in.
