    He probably has more to gain from Tottenham tbh. They’re planning on selling Lo Celso, even not Madison and he’s really his only competetor. They actually have a manager beyond 6 months, he’ll probably get loads of minute there right away and more importantly in the future. And if he plays well and wants to come to Barca, we’ll buy him.

    Whereas if he comes to us, B team is the likely destination, it’ll be very hard if not impossible to beat Pedri Gavi FDJ, even short term Gundo is not gonna lose his spot. And long term, even for the backup role, he has Fermin, Torre, Darvish as competitors.

  15. I wasn‘t sold on him tbf. But since we‘ve been linked to him for weeks if not months, countless fabrizio romano, reddit and twitter posts, he‘s been to barcelona in the past few days, I think it‘s a bad look for the club and for Deco.

  18. This is in NO WAY a bad look for Deco. Yes, we wanted him, but we refused to be blackmailed into giving him a first team spot when we have other talented midfielders coming through the ranks at La Masia.

    Promising big salaries and guaranteed spots to unproven players is what got us into trouble in the Bartho era. Kudos to Deco for holding his ground.

  28. i know people should prioritize their families and financial well being, but this is when you get to appreciate more players like tigrinho, raphina, cancelo, and so on. dudes could easily get paid way better in other clubs but chose barça over everything.

  30. He has 900 minutes in his first senior season in Djurgården in 25 games. He’s not even a regular starter in a position we are super blessed with. This would be a extremely stupid decision if we signed him. We are badly in need of money and those 10m are better spent on a DM or even Cancelo.

  32. He was going to be a sub at Barca. Maybe Tottenham can give him more than that, but it’s not clear they’ll give him a chance at Champions League.

    Young player, maybe the pressure of a big club isn’t such a good idea, could’ve been a smart move.
