  1. 8 year sentence. Nolan made a New Year’s Resolution maybe?

  2. Surely future victims of this absolute monster should be able to sue the state? Do they bear any responsibility to protect citizens from irredeemable scum bags like this lad?

  3. Time to throw away the key. Everyone else’s safety should come before the criminals rights.

  4. >Richard Kearney (42) also briefly falsely imprisoned his former prison chaplain in her home bathroom during a spate of offending in March 2023, when he was on temporary release, or release on licence from his life sentence, Dublin Circuit Criminal Court heard on Tuesday.

8 poxy years? This lad is a serial offender and convicted murderer, that sentence is absurd.

  5. >a man who was let out of prison despite receiving a life sentence for murder

Well there’s the problem, isn’t it?

  6. And why was he, a murderer on temporary release ?
    Can anyone answer please

  7. Yes but the really important thing is this man’s “civil liberties” were not diminished in any way.

The Irish Council for Civil Liberties, the Irish Penal Reform Trust or any of the other Criminal’s rights lobby groups should be told they won’t be allowed to moan on Irish media again unless they are willing to be grilled on cases like this.

  8. Don’t worry, I’m sure Judge Nolan will give him an award.

  9. You’d wonder what sort of protocol was followed for this lad to be let out. He doesn’t strike me as someone who outsmarted everyone and convinced people he ready to be a normal member of society. Was it just a box ticking thing and he qualified and got released without proper due process?

He used his only time out of prison to find and inflict people on more elderly people who can’t fight back. The fact he didn’t murder someone this time should not be grounds to let him out in 8 years. It’s just evil to think his motivations on getting out was drugs/steal/assault instantly.

  10. There’s no reforming this cunt. Lock him in a hole for the rest of his days. He’s proved that any compassion shown would be a huge mistake.

  11. Lucky he was religiously paying his TV license. Would’ve been 20 years otherwise.

  12. How was that vermin ever given a minute outside, temporary or not…

  13. Tbh I don’t understand why we don’t do the death penalty, like he’s clearly guilty and clearly isn’t reforming. There’s no reason why we should send him for life in prison, just gonna take up more space in our crowded prisons

  14. 100000000% completely heinous act and the lad deserves beheading but the one thing rattling around my noggin is why did he attack chaplins and priests? something else going on there?

  15. Holy fuck our justice system is absolutely fucked.

  16. 8 years supply of kY or Vaseline should do the job. he’ll be walking funny when he’s realised.

  17. ‘Kearney, of Kilcronan Court, Clondalkin, pleaded guilty to 10 counts comprising four counts of false imprisonment, three counts of assault causing harm, two counts of robbery and one threat to kill at various locations in Dublin on March 6th and March 15th, 2023.’

    8 fuckin years?

  18. Classic case of someone who should have lost his right to partake with society. He’s shown he cannot be trusted.

  19. I’m genuinely lost for fucking words.
Judge Nolan needs to be fired out straight.
He’s indirectly the cause of all so many offences due to lenient sentences

  20. Is there a person who personally causes more misery and violence in this country than Nolan?

No politician, no civil service big wig, no scummy teenager is as personally prolific and as efficient at spreading violence and misery as this man.

  21. Ah sure lookit he’s a great lad rly, just got mixed up with a bad bunch…

    …your Honour.

  22. Surely there has to be a release process? Who decided he was safe to renter the community? Not only that, 21 years for murder is a disgrace. You take a life, you should have to give yours, excluding exceptional circumstances.

  23. Just wait until Judge Nolan gets his hands on him. He’ll get the most severe suspended sentence this country has ever seen.

  24. If there weren’t innocent people getting hurt, then it would be comical at how everyone can see the problem.

Everyone except the people running our judicial system seemingly.

  25. This man needs all the help we can give him, he should be provided with educational opportunities and should be given free courses in mindfulness and self awareness, he should be provided with decent housing and top healthcare and be given financial assistance until he gets a decent job , he can become a valuable member of society and contribute and enrich our community, he needs and deserves all our support.
