  1. Digital pictures won’t do justice to the real thing, but experts with professional equipment and a lot of skill and experience can capture the moment quite well. It requires a shitload of time, expensive tools, practice and a strong will, and usually a lot of manipulation and image stacking to get an impressive results.

That’s why I personally love amateur and OC content, because it shows the spirit of love and passion, and that brings aspiration, not only for yourself, but for others as well, like for children.

If you want some inspiration for a new hobby, or even a career, this place has some beautiful stuff: https://www.reddit.com/r/astrophotography/

Here is an amateur picture of a [moon](https://imgur.com/a/AUADIat) I took on my balcony, with only a phone (Oneplus 7T Pro), attached to the eyepiece of a telescope with an adapter like [this](https://imgur.com/a/AWdyjqq).

I think the process of seeing new things, discovering things on your own or by others and the enjoyment of watching things simply unfold, happen and move, like the waves on a beach, flames in a campfire or in this case: the aurora (The Fires of a Fox in Finnish, funnily). That spark of hope and enjoyment is almost forgotten by a lot of people, so don’t give up if you like it, and keep up the good work, because [that’ll do](https://youtu.be/rjQtzV9IZ0Q).

But here’s a free tip: Look for a friend who might enjoy the same things as you do, and bring them to enjoy the same things you enjoy. That’s how dreams stay alive and passion and love spreads. And you might even find a real companion, or a fellowship one day!

  2. Is there any kind of side or app you can check for high probability of northern lights? Or something where you would get an alert. I did not notice that we had this pretty northern lights yesterday and I would rather not miss them again.
