Hazard: “The Bernabéu, white jersey, has a charm that the others do not have. Its special. Even the way of playing didn’t suit me, compared to other clubs. But it was my dream. I couldn’t stop my career without coming here. It shows that Real is bigger than all of them.”

  1. Eden Hazard admits that Real Madrid was his the dream club and he couldn’t turn the opportunity down. He also shed light and admits his lackluster motivation, constant laziness, poor fitness and bad diet:

    > Going to train was even a bit shitty, I think. I would come, I wouldn’t even tie my shoelaces and would say: ‘go ahead, it’s okay’. Then they saw that I dribbled the ball and performed on the field, which was what was really important. You are good, you win, you get bonuses, everyone is happy.

    > In the Premier it was not bad, they respected the game and did not make very harsh tackles on you, but in Spain they are bad, what’s more cruel . They step on you a little bit, ‘I didn’t do it on purpose’.

    > After a workout, soaking in a cold bath for an hour, no. Leave me alone, with my friends, let’s go home, play cards, have a beer. I play for two hours with my children in the garden. It was my recovery. If I had been like Cristiano, that is the example of a good footballer, there are others, I would have been burned. “I didn’t go to the gym every three days, I didn’t do three hours of physiotherapy to recover . ”

    > I was a lazy person. Then I went to train every day. But I gave and received so much in the game that I couldn’t stand being at full speed all week, taking hits. My body would not have been fifteen years old, it would have been three.”

    > I like to eat, with friends and have a drink . It happened to me the day before a game, eating at home. Diet sucks, it’s useless. Well, it’s okay if you want to play until you’re 40. I knew that wouldn’t be the case for me .”

    > With Chelsea I had just finished a tough season, one of the best of my career. I said to myself: ‘ Now that I’m at Real, this is perhaps the last vacation I’ll be able to … ‘. And I let myself go like I let myself go every summer . Seven years in England, without a break at Christmas, giving everything, so that when I had three or four weeks of vacation, I could eat barbecues, drink rosé wine and all that. And that’s what allowed me to reset and start again. Then, Real, things went wrong and that’s it.”

All in all, what an absolute nightmare and shambolic transfer decision. He should have never been bought, his ideals do not resemble the Real Madrid values at all.

Don’t get me wrong, he is a terrific player but it was all natural gifted. He literally admits that he did not want to prolong his career and that he didn’t liked training, physiotherapy, fitness and a good diet instead he preferred all of the opposites. That works when you 25 yo player but not when you are 29 yo when Madrid bought him.

I’m just happy that we moved on and have changed our transfer policy drastically to not allow another ‘Hazardous’ transfer occur.

  2. Last lazy trainer we ever sign i hope. Sad it didn’t work out but it was written on the walls he wouldn’t age well

  3. Such a shame. Imagine this talent with proper professional commitment.

  4. I like the guy, he’s a nice person and a legend of the game but reading this is quite triggering. I have defended him a lot against people who said he had poor attitude but him admitting these things just proves them right and that sucks.

  5. “I couldn’t stop my career without coming here.”

But my brother you didn’t have to stop your career once you arrived.

  6. Dude sure lived the life. Paid millions for doing nada for years. Wish I can pull that off.

  7. The belgian walrus (as I like to call this useless dude) is one of the most unprofessional (if not the most…) player I’ve ever seen playing for Madrid.

  8. You left out a big part in the quote. He calls Real Madrid a braggart (one who likes to brag) and that he didnt like the way we played.

I dont think he means in it in a bad way, just that were such a big club that we boast our accomplishments and since we fight for everything that wasnt him, hence why he didnt fit in and as soon as things got difficult he checked out.

Maybe a loss in translation from Fench to Spanish to English….

  9. Eden wasted his career with that mentality.

Ancelotti and co saw right through him , and that’s why he hardly had game time. He deserves the poor reception he received from the aspect of the game. People could cherish what he did for Chelsea , but in Madrid he was one of the few who did not deserve to be there.

  10. Sorry but I am not interested in hearing his side. He got his money we move on.

  11. Still fuck you for the way you betrayed Zidane who fought to bring you to Bernabeu but you let him down, coming with extra 7 kilos like a pregnant bitch.. And you were too greedy staying in madrid getting the huge salary and doing nothing but keeping the bad habits and the ugly shape.. You came to madrid to get the huge salary and retire you did not deserve to wear the white jersey..
