Qatar says Gaza truce proposal to be sent to Hamas as war rages on • FRANCE 24 English

What the Qatari prime minister is saying um that follows the Paris conference as they’re calling it so it was a meeting of uh American Israeli Qatari and Egyptian leaders uh and they all got on the same page for what they think the deal should look like now they’re taking

It to Hamas and what they think the the deal should look like from leaks that we know that we have is uh a 628 we but let’s start with a six week pause in the fighting and after that a release of hostages in stages um and that sort of

Mimics the earlier deal but a release of many more um Palestinian prisoners in return for the hostages in this round uh we have just heard from Hamas tonight a spokesperson for isma Han the Hamas Chief um of course the external Chief not Yasir inside Gaza and he says that

They don’t want any short-term pause they want the fight fighting to end not just a ceasefire an actual end of fighting uh with no return and then once the Israelis leave the Gaza Strip then they will discuss the details so that’s not as optimistic as what we’ve just

Heard from the Qatari prime minister and I must say uh that was the tone in Jerusalem from the prime minister of Israel earlier when he was also saying you know the tone in Washington and the tone from the Qatari prime minister is optimistic but the tone from the party

Is slightly less so I have to say tonight as well

A framework to halt the Gaza fighting and for hostage releases is to be relayed to Hamas, mediator Qatar said Monday, in the latest efforts to broker a new truce. The move comes after CIA chief William Burns met top Israeli, Egyptian and Qatari officials in Paris on Sunday. Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, who attended the talks, said “good progress” had been made and the parties were “hoping to relay this proposal to Hamas and to get them to a place where they engage positively and constructively in the process”. However, the tone from Israeli and Hamas sources was “less optimistic”, cautions FRANCE 24’s Jerusalem correspondent Irris Makler.

  1. Wait ? Qatar funded hamas million for weapons and b@mbs . All big wigs of hamas live in million dollar mansions in Qatar. So now Qatar is charge of doing the ceasefire and peace 🤣😂😅

  2. As soon as Hamas frees the hostages Israel is going to finish raiding Gaza to give its ministers the Gaza colonies they’ve been demanding in their last meetings. Unfortunately with no humanitarian aid coming in ( thanks US, France, Germany and company for elevating collective punishment to new levels) there’s no choice for the Palestinian population…it’s going to be either being expelled from their land or starve. Hostages will hopefully go back home safely, Hamas won’t be decimated and will get more people in its ranks, Netanyahu will keep power and Palestinians will be in the loosing end again. Nauseating…

  3. The Israeli and Hamas deal can be acceptable on both sides when they have direct talks. we all know America is part of the war supporting Israel financially and equipping israel at the latest arms .provide intelligence, and then how can they a.mediator this is a great contradiction

  4. What the hell, hamas is in delusion they lost this war. They should now hand down guns and come to peace. Release hostages and ask isreal to break wall and give us voting rights to fight in parliament.

  5. Hamas are stupid kids. Hahaha its not possible to stop the war of course when you want. War is not the sport competition that you can stop anytime. War is not game play . it is not concert .
