Palestinian state only way to lasting peace for Israeli people, US says

We do believe that this conflict as all conflicts do will end at some point and that there needs to be a political path forward for the establishment of a Palestinian state that is the only way not just to answer the legitimate hopes dreams aspirations of the Palestinian

People but it is also this is critical the only way to provide lasting security for the Israeli people we have seen uh the government of Israel want to engage with its neighbors you’ve seen the government of Israel normalize relationships with uh a number of its neighbors already and it wants to pursue

Further integration it wants to obviously Norm normalize uh relations with Saudi Arabia and we had been making progress on that and believe that progress is still possible to normalize relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia but the point that we have made to Israel is that to achieve those goals

To provide security assurances for Israel uh it’s going to take Israel making some tough choices as well

US state department spokesperson Matthew Miller has said a two-state solution is the only way to lasting peace for Palestinians and Israelis. Speaking at a press conference, as Washington increases pressure on Israel to accept a settlement with the Palestinians, Miller said a lasting solution was ‘not just to answer the legitimate hopes, dreams, aspirations of the Palestinian people, but it is also, and this is critical, the only way to provide lasting security for the Israeli people’.

  7. What we see here from the White House spokesperson is very concerning, as he seems unable to speak the truth or provide answers. It appears as if he can't talk or convey the truth—a shame. It's like we are not going to witness what Israel is doing, and we can't prevent this barbaric war. We are unquestionably involved in this war, placing Israel above international law, above anyone, even above America and the world, and above American citizens.

  14. So this spokesman said this, but every time there's a UN vote for the last 30 years on this issue, they vote no. All the USA would have to do is vote yes to the two state solution agreement that the entire world has voted yes to. I don't know the complete deal, but it gives something like 20 % of the land to Palestine for their state. Israel says no, and the USA says no. Israel wants peace but is building settlements in West Bank at a record pace. Almost everything either country says is contradictory to their actions when it comes to a two state solution.

  32. It is their biggest dream they and the Uk's government not to see it happen, all fluffy words and dirty politics to avoid backlash. But Palestine will be free one day, even against all of their efforts.
