Language Law For National Print Media Comes Into Force In Ukraine

  1. >The law, adopted in 2019, does not ban publication in Russian but stipulates that a parallel Ukrainian version of equal scope and circulation must be published, too.

  2. Reminds me of Poland under partitions where every store sign had to be same size in Russian and Polish despite all the population being Polish. Giving privilege to one ethnic/language speaking group is shit.

  3. I don’t understand why you would live in a country and not learn its language. A short term visit is one thing, but anything longer should require the effort to integrate into the (linguistic) society.
