Swan on tracks delays trains at station near London

Commuters to London were faced with a rather unusual kind of delay. A swan made its way onto the tracks at Bishop Stortford station and held up trains for 15 minutes until it decided to move along.

  1. It happened in Germany a few years ago but on that occasion the swan was mourning a dead swan that somehow got killed in an overhead power cable.

  2. I think if the train just moved, the swan would figure it out.
Not a difficult one, I think everyone just wanted another break.

  3. Why not just drive along like its not there? Trains are much bigger and stronger than swans, so why bother it?

  4. All swans are technically the property of the monarch – hence the train waiting. 15 minutes is not an eternity and everyone had an interesting excuse for being late to work/their appointments.
