King Charles has been diagnosed with cancer and will be taking a step back from public-facing duties, Buckingham Palace has announced. The King says he feels “wholly positive” about his treatment and will “continue to undertake state business and official paperwork as usual”.

In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: “During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.
