Fuck you Ireland, in particular!

  1. Just tell them Dublin’s in the UK.

73.8% of people in the UK will just blink a couple of times and agree.

  2. I’ve been told by one UK seller that I used to shop with regularly, that they stopped shipping to Ireland last year, because customs is such disaster. Apparently they’re sending loads of packages back for incorrect reasons. Then the seller eats the cost of return shipping and shipping again, which isn’t feasible for smaller companies. Same doesn’t happen with other countries so now they ship Europe wide, excluding Ireland.

  3. If you really really want it use address pal but customs vat blah blah.

I used it towards the end of last year because I couldn’t find the item nowhere

  4. I can’t fucking blame them. I make business purchases abroad from places like the US and Canada and items one after another keep getting rejected at customs. It’s unbelievable how bad it is and it’s making it very hard to do business anymore.

  5. It’s not even a recent thing

Live in Japan. For years now I’ve been “sending” presents home via .co.uk everything’s good until I remember they auto switched my location back to Japan. Then if I turn it back to my folk’s house, bam: everything in the basket no longer ships.

About 50% of the rare things that do ship to Ireland, the shipping is more expensive than for Japan! Things shipped from the UK!

  6. Hehe if changing a plug is the only import duty then great, but I do take your point for say wall mounted electrical light switches and sockets, the wall box pattern is not compatible. But still 90%+ of amazon.de stuff will work here
