– scholes said he tried to play like him? by the time kroos is starting to establish himself, scholes is already super old and on the verge of retiring. heck he retired for the first time 2011.
– Cruyff said he should have won a ballon d’or? what year loll? heck, give i doubt there was a year where he deserved to be 2nd. 3rd placee maaaaybe, but even that is stretching it
– Guardiola is famous for the amount of crap that he talks about, especially about his player. so yeah, i take that with a grain of salt lol.

I’m not a Madrid fan or a Croatian dude, but Modric > Kroos imho.
Even then, I think these two are the most underrated midfielders ever; I personally put Modric alongside Zidane or slightly less, reaching a WC final with a team that’s as half as good as the other sides is quite crazy if you ask me (and few times I’ve seen these high level performances from a single player in WC, he was a 2006 Zidane cosplay).
We got blessed and cursed as neutral to see these two beasts in the same team, blessed because they’re awesome to watch but cursed because maybe if they were on divergent teams we wouldn’t be talking about underrated (the fact that they won these UCL together with Benzema, Casemiro and the likes of Ronaldo and Bale kinda undermines their job)
One of the best tweets about him I saw was from a Liverpool fan, he said something like
“We played about 5 times against Real Madrid and this motherfucker still hasn’t miss a pass”
