  2. This is shit, like everything else to do with Brexit.

But, I hate to say this, but I am not convinced UK taxpayer’s money should be thrown at it.

Bands that are big enough to tour Europe in the first place will either tour and make less money, or tour and try to charge more for tickets in the EU, or not bother and stick to the UK.

Fans in the EU will get to see a few less live bands, and maybe have to pay a bit more for the ones the can see.

The bands aren’t going to starve, the fans aren’t going to die. If the fans make enough fuss, their respective governments will have to make it easier for bands to tour. As Spain appear to be doing already.

A shitty situation for everyone, but I’m not desperate to subsidise it.

  3. While music is a huge contributor to GDP, individual acts do not donate to the Tories and the Tories cannot profit off them directly. Those acts who are mates with the Tories are also going to be those least affected by this. They might a little bit less due to increased costs, however they will headlining huge venues and festivals, so still raking in millions either way. Small and medium sized acts are going to be the ones seeing their livelihood pt at risk.
