Chelsea stars already ‘regret’ signing long-term contracts after losing faith in ‘grand project’ – with Mauricio Pochettino’s tactics dividing the squad

  1. Flashback to his final 18 months at that north London club.

  2. Ah so if hypothetically, Chelsea get relegated, these schmucks are there for the next 7 years playing championship football or lower? That would be beautiful. Alas a man can but dream

  3. It’s a lot like watching the man United downfall. That season they won the champions league having two full first team Prem squads already presented issues. Now they have two championship squads on Champions League wages. Honestly don’t see how they resolve this without spending way more money than they’re able to.

  4. There’s enough talent there that they can sell players (especially if they’ll take a wage drop) to stay afloat via FFP

In the summer they could easily sell Enzo, Colwill, Gallagher (and I bet could shift Lukaku too) to account for FFP. No doubt next season one of Madueke/Nkunku/Sterling could be sold, as well as Chuke or Badiashile who aren’t getting as much game time

We joke about FIFA tactics but if Chelsea are flopping I can imagine players being prepared to take a pay cut to leave, and clubs will easily pay enough to sign those players and correct FFP

    Already
    Enzo will sell for 60-80mill
    Colwill for 40mill
    Sterling could go for 30mill
    Gallagher for 30-40mill

A bit shit for the best players to be re-sold every time……but could easily stay afloat

  5. Ungrateful meceneranies. Imagine getting those massive contracts to play a mid-level team like Chelsea and whinging about it. What did you expect?

  6. Can see why they’re annoyed. When they accepted 10 year contracts to allow Boehly wiggle room to amortise for FFP, he unfortunately failed to disclose that he also planned to amortise the amount of league points they’d win over the same 10 year period.

  7. Cos the money grabbers are missing out on Saudi contracts for 8 years!

  8. Personally I’m loving watching this ‘8 year Chelsea program’ fall to bits.

Just as Utd are stuck with deadweight from past managers, Chelsea have just adopted an entire family of deadweight that’ll shackle them until 2030+.

  9. They should get Arsene Wenger out of retirement, he’d love a project like this.

  10. well well well, if it isnt the consequences of their own actions
