It’s for Ukraine. We sell the Greeks new planes and they give their old stuff to Ukraine, bypassing the Magastani in Congress. We simultaneously sell Turkey F-16’s because both Greece and Turkey are in NATO and traditionally we don’t choose between them.
> Tzogopoulos believes this Turkish-American bargainer has two winners and one loser. The winners are the U.S. and Turkey, with the former securing another lucrative arms sale and the latter receiving the jets it sought. On the other hand, NATO is a clear loser since the “message that is being sent to other members” is that autonomy in foreign policy, in this case Turkey, “could be an option for states without serious repercussions.”
I don’t see how NATO is losing from this. Well, Turkey:
– has the second largest army,
– invests on its military industry,
– is trying to be less dependent on NATO on its own defense, and
– is contributing a heavy deal to NATO’s capacities in Black Sea, Middle East and Caucasus
so the relation can be more flexible. If other members take example and also invest more in their defense instead of being dependent crybabies, NATO will end up more powerful in the medium/long run.
Because apparently US need more money /s
Massive profit of course
NATO is the American ganster army. “We know the Soviet Union is dead, but we are still gonna provoke Russia by enveloping it completely, be in line with this outrageous and clearly American warmongering policy or else (even though this is suppose to be a nice defensive alliance)”
Both NATO & both needed on the same team I would guess.
Money
And to put Erdogan in his place after dragging his heels on the Swedish NATO membership and requiring a bribe to stop delaying.
Quid pro quo: Greek Shipowners Are Stampeding Out of the Russian Oil Trade
Just eight Greek tankers loaded Russian crude last month US sanctions and Houthi missiles may be deterring Greek owners
The number of Greek-owned tankers hauling Russian crude fell to just eight in January, vessel tracking data compiled by Bloomberg show. That’s down from as more than 40 in May and about 20 through most of the second half of last year.
Turkey should give its russian missles to ukraine, then they coukd buy western missles and finally be approved for F35.
It’s better to settle this peacefully. Ukraine has lost 77,000 square miles already.

My initial thought was to keep balance between the two, considering the [Cyprus dispute](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyprus_problem) involve the two.

Greek shipowners are fleeing the Russian crude trade after a ramp up in US sanctions targeting the traders and shipping companies moving the nation’s petroleum.
