    Jesus, that’s a lot

    > Communal heat networks used in blocks of flats are not subject to the Ofgem price cap and residents are unable to turn it off or switch suppliers.

    one moe reason why I’ll never buy a flat in the UK.

    The list goes:

    * it’s always an under 100 years leasehold, and gets more difficult to sell as time goes
    * ridiculous service charges
    * almost impossible to dispute service charges – you need 51% votes to change the managing company
    * issues with roof or cladding? Well, fuck you, here, pay £70k pa
    * have an antisocial neighbour upstairs? Well, fuck you, the council will do fuck all
    * and this shit with utilities may happen in some places

  2. Lambeth council seem to be a law unto themselves.

    The council chamber is over 90% Labour and there is no chance of anyone opposing what the Labour councillors decide.

    Any querying of decisions by the Lib Dem or Green councillors is shouted down with insults and there are no repercussions.

    I’d consider myself a Labour supporter, but I won’t vote Lambeth Labour in the next council elections.
