Republicans did the calculations but it turns out they can’t do math.
Incoming Chip Roy rant
Why on Earth did Johnson bring this vote to the floor without having the votes???
I am asking this seriously.
It just shows once again: The House is run by idiots. And as long as Republicans run the House, it’ll continue to be run by idiots.
Competence matters. Help flip the House and keep the Senate. r/VoteDEM
The fact that it was even close says alot about the embarrassing state of the GOP.
Alternate headline: Some GOP Representatives Find Spine, Realize Impeachment was Stupid Idea
This is a “President Snow laughing” moment
What an absolute, unmitigated disaster this House term has been for the Republicans. Even by their own twisted standards! An absolute embarrassment.
This year’s election should be a landslide. I’m not saying it will be, but it *should* be if this country wasn’t being lied to by Fox News.
Republicans just can’t stop winning can they
Hilarious, honestly. Bunch of fucking clowns.
Johnson is out
They can’t even get their own dumbass crazy shit done. The do-nothing Republicans.
The House GOP is a non-serious body trying to do non-serious shit at the expense of America and the Constitution they claim to love so dearly. All for a fascist piece of shit.
That vote was way too close for comfort.
214-216
A competent house leader knows the votes prior to bringing it to the floor….
I remember when FiveThirtyEight was jumping over themselves to claim that Biden was absolutely going to be impeached after McCarthy had moved to open and inquiry… Seeing this mess with mayorkas, does anyone actually think there is support in the house to even claim such a thing?
Gaetz should call for Johnson to be removed as leader… Cmon Matt!.. do it right now!
Fucking idiots don’t know how to whip the votes. They think they can just bully their conference members into submitting by taking losing bills to the floor. These guys are incapable of governing.
Pelosi – she was the best (most skillful, effective and powerful) Speaker in the history of the House. She was a BadAss and the GOAT. Reportedly, she was the only person in Washington whom Trump the Loser respected, though publicly he said otherwise.
“The failure came about because of the surprise appearance in the chamber of Rep. Al Green (D-Texas), who showed up unexpected to vote against the bill.”
BAH GAWD THAT’S AL GREEN’S MUSIC!
Can you imagine if all this drama was about a bill that helped Americans? All the hearings, vote whips, writing articles of impeachment, getting legal experts flown out.
All of that for nothing.
>The House impeachment vote went down to the wire with GOP lawmakers saying moments before the vote that they didn’t know the outcome. At one moment during the suspenseful roll call, Republicans thought they had enough members to impeach Mayorkas when Rep. Al Green, D-Texas, surprised everyone and cast his no vote. Lawmakers believed that Green was out sick and he had missed all previous votes in the day, but his last-minute showing tied things up at 215-215, stunning the chamber.
like to imagine Al Green kicking both doors open and announcing NO at the last minute.

“Stunner”.
Take a page out of Pelosi’s book and don’t embarrass yourself by bringing the vote to the floor unless you know you have them.
Stunner… No I’m pretty sure most Americans realize Republicans aren’t good at their jobs.
