So what needs to happen is for progressives to actually identify those material causes that make people support Trump. It does absolutely zero to sit here and say, oh they’re fascist, and they’re evil and Trump happens because bad people are doing bad things.
If and when Trump loses this election, these people are not going away. Unless we can find a way to redress the root causes of Trumpism, we are stuck with it.
Dems have essentially abandoned the white working classes and rural people, and these kinds of upstart “look at me now” movements are the result.
Change it or we lose.
