A traumatologist from Moscow left Russia after the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Now Andrey Volna treats the Ukrainian military, performing several surgeries a day. “I dreamed of a European path for Russia, but Russia chose a fascist path. That’s not for me and my family.”

  1. I hope, there is no one left in russia of his relatives and closes. Otherwise it is very dangerous to give this intervew openly. Russian fascist regime can use it against him.

  2. That’s a true hero, instead to allowing the terrorists to take over your life, he gets the hell out of Russia and volunteers for Ukraine to help its warriors, and contribute to Russia’s defeat.

  3. The brain-drain ruSSia forced on itself is quite the feat.

  4. A thing that really pisses me off is the amount of Russians in Europe and the USA that say when asked were they are from, they mislead you and say “Ukraine” to get sympathy or favoritism.

I ran into two bar maids that when asked said they were Ukrainians, and then I followed up with: From what city? And of course they all say Kiev, but they didn’t seem to understand my few words in Ukrainian. So then I asked the bartender about them, and she told me they were Russians pretending to be Ukrainians because customers give them a better tip.

    Sad!

  5. Russia history is so fucked that their current state of affairs doesn’t surprise me one bit

I just wish more Russians could be like him since Russia could be such an amazing country if they actually moved away from all the dictatorial bullshit

Huge country, huge population, massive natural resources. Solid technological capacity and educated population

If they could just have become a free and fair economy instead of funnelling all money and power to the oligarchs Russia could easily be the second world power again, surpassing or at least equalling China and would probably be one of the most influential players in Europe instead of being the economic and diplomatic pariah

  6. A display of morals and clear thinking from Russia. The exception that proves the rule.

  7. That’s genuinely good Russian.

I hope no one’s asking him to prove he’s a good Russian everyday. His actions have already proven.

  8. Exactly, they chose the fascist way. Thanks mate. Be careful though.

  9. Hats off and big thanks and POB of the day. More need to stand up like this guy.
