Moment protesters throw soup at Mona Lisa painting in Paris

Two environmental protesters hurled soup on to the Mona Lisa at the Louvre in Paris, calling for ‘healthy and sustainable food’. The painting, which was behind bulletproof glass, appeared to be undamaged. Gallery visitors looked on in shock as two women threw the yellow-coloured soup before climbing under the barrier in front of the work and flanking the splattered painting. One of the two activists removed her jacket to reveal a white T-shirt bearing the name of the activist group Riposte Alimentaire (Food Response)

  1. The moment in 2023 will never be forgotten, I will always remember juststopoil as the most unreasonable activist that ever existed

  2. I went to a wedding where the groom, an Oxford graduate, told a story about how, owing to rivalry between his and a neighbouring college there, pranks and other mischief was rife. He told how one misty night, he and his contemptible college chums carried buckets of water to throw onto the walls comprising said rivals' campus boundary; walls that will have withstood millions of gallons of rainfall over the last few hundred years, and remained unaffected.

This wild and reckless act of hurling half a litre of cold tomato soup onto 8-inch thick bullet-proof protective glass somewhat reminded me of that.

  3. I am done with society and humanity what did these protesters even hope to gain from this instead of going to a homeless shelter and give the soup to homeless families they decided to just waste all that food and throw it at the most world famous painting in the world every since Renaissance 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️😡😡😡

  4. Lol france's energy is already one of the greenest in the world, thanks to nuclear energy. They don't care about fact, they only want attention

  5. Pathetic form of social action. Boomerang effect of negativity instead of rallying support. Well done! (sarcasm)

  6. Oh well

At least they’re not blocking the road like what we have in London 😅😂😅😂

    Protesters are too strange 😂😭

  7. Ineffective. Nobody and I repeat nobody as in not a single person in this comments section remembers any of the many recent protests in museums. Nobody cares anymore, nobody is outraged, this motivates nobody to take any action whatsoever.
