  1. I don’t know how to feel about that if I am honest.

It was a shock to read how low ‘Pembrokeshire’s D band’ in comparison to areas where I have lived. I am kind of astonished really and it’s leaving me with ‘how did they not raise the rates like other places in Wales have? (Also include England if you like)

How has Pembrokeshire coped over the years with such low rates and why?

Because now we have a situation of the rates rising and this is the bit that I am not sure of what to feel.

On one hand, it’s awful when we all have a rise and very little to show for it. But in some places the Pembrookshire’s D band is the cost of Band A??

    Band bloody A!

So I just had a looksy and picked one place out of the air

    **Brecon – Band A is £1,332.55 Band B is – £1,554.65**

Pembrokeshire’s Band D is just a tenners worth more than Powy’s Band A for Brecon, that is bonkers!! No wonder they are losing staff and reducing hours in the library.

It leaves me feeling with a bit of dread in how the Welsh Government intends to revise all this council tax in the future.

But I think in this case – Pembrokeshire residents are screwed if they don’t have the rise and feeling screwed for having that much of a rise. I really don’t see the Welsh Government stepping in to put a cap on this. Not when the bands are so low, compared to rest of Wales.

  2. Council tax is absolute nonsense. We should all pay the same irrespective of where you live.

  3. One reason it is so low is that there are so little services compared to other council areas that are higher?

also wages are low compared to other counties and job opportunities sadly 🙁

    lovely beaches though
