  1. Being American, I should probably know this but meh….

What is the reason America has never propped up Mexico like we did China and are now doing to India and Viet Nam? Wouldn’t making Mexico a cheep-production powerhouse benefit us much more by allowing our closest neighbor to prosper?

  2. i have been eating an inordinate amount of tacos lately

  3. Pretty amazing to watch the world reorganize in real time to a USA/Euro/Japanese led economic and military block and a BRIC led economic and military block.

  4. tbh, in this respect, Mexico is partially a proxy for China. Anyway.

  5. Is this by dollar amount? Is it because produce prices tripled?

  6. For the first time in two decades China has exported more to Mexico than the US.

  7. Glad the Chinese factories in Mexico are finally up and running.

  8. We should definitely keep up this trend. China is showing us who they are and it isn’t good.

  9. Well, the funny part is that china just shifted its operations to Mexico. So, essentially, it’s the same thing.

  10. Good. I would much rather have a strong US and Mexico with close ties.

  11. Too bad China is buying up all the businesses in Mexico..

  12. im a true believer that the only way we can settle our immigration problems is if we focus on propping up the economies of the neighbors to the south of us. We’ve pretty much birthed chaos in the central american region and destabilized the hell out of everywhere south of us since the 1950s. Its the least we can do.

  13. China’s taking advantage of NAFTA by moving their assembly facilities to Mexico and hiring local labor. These cities actually are having a better economy than the US.

  14. This would also help solve the migrant problem I would think. If South America can have a stronger economy then all those migrants wouldn’t risk their live to cross to America.
