Gregg Wallace: I spend two hours a week by myself playing strategy computer games
A day in the life of Greg Wallace
You’d have thought his agent would proof read this prior to publication in Harvester.
On becoming a father for the third time in his 50s, Wallace said “another child isn’t something that I would have chosen at my age”.
“I was always very honest with Anna, but it’s what she wanted and I love her. I just requested two things – that we had help in the house (so her mum moved in), and secondly that we had at least one week a year when we holidayed just the two of us.”
His poor wife !!! His poor son !!!
It’s a weird headline. Makes it seem odd he enjoys playing games, when it’s a multi billion pound industry.
And total war games are excellent. (Except the warhammer ones)
>I’m an amateur historian. I spend two hours by myself in my home office playing Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia, set in 878 AD. I prefer turn-based strategy computer games to fast ones that require reflex.
Not the best in the series, which is a huge shame as its a fascinating period of history. I’m still more than happy playing Empire and occasionally Attila.
You Gotta Pump Those Numbers Up, Those Are Rookie Numbers
In the article itself, he doesn’t say 2 hours a week….his “diary” suggests 2 to 3 hours a day.
Finishes lunch, goes to his study to play games, comes back out for dinner with the family
Two hours a week seems very small for any hobby, but strategy games aren’t really pick up and play things. By the time you’re in your element it’s time to log off.
Re the Total War thing, didn’t he present Time Commanders where essentially the participants played a total war game anyway? I don’t think it’s weird he’d include it as part of this totally fake “what I do all day” compilation.
Only 2 hours a week playing computer games but spends 4 hours a day shining his big bald head. Get your priorities right, Greg. Until then, I’ll spell your name the correct way, not the narcissistic “look at me everyone, I’ve got two Gs at the end of my name” way.
Can never see anything about Gregg “Two Gs” Wallace without thinking of this twitter exchange https://twitter.com/jimbrny/status/1338885915289268226
Gregg Wallace definitely plays Total War: Warhammer exclusively as the Greenskins.
“I fuck off to the gym before anyone else in my family is awake then have a long breakfast with my female PA. I go home to eat lunch that my wife made and spend an hour and a half with my autistic son that I don’t like and didn’t want to have. I then spend double that amount of time alone in my office playing video games before cooking the one dinner I make per week (despite being a chef). Then I go to bed to avoid spending any more time than necessary with my wife and son.”
What an utter twat
I have to ask why The Telegraph thought anyone would possibly give a fuck about this.
Two hours?
What a fecking lightweight!
Also, who is Greg Wallace?
*goes to Google*
How is this even news? It is 2024 and the gaming industry is worth double the film and music industries combined, you are in the minority if you don’t play games in one form or another.
Surprised he doesn’t play Cooking Mama on the switch in his free time.
“Man indulges in hobby once a week for length of time equivalent to watching a film.”
What a story!
It’s a buttery biscuit base… with an intricate layered set of defences.
By far the least egregious part of this article! How about the bit where he spends 1.5 hours entertaining his nonverbal autistic son that he didn’t want?
Any games like Age of Empires on PS5? Looking to try one like the old days
TLDR: Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia, set in 878 AD
I refuse to believe anybody in the world plays two hours of strategy computer games per week. It’s either a lot more or none at all.
Really buried the lead the the masterchef host has a fry up at Harvester’s every day.
And 1 hour and 30 minutes with a child he didn’t want.😄
This article is a must read, Alan Partridge level stuff. He has a full English breakfast at 10.30am and lunch almost immediately after at midday. He goes into a Harvester all the time and people still keep saying “I didn’t expect to see you in here” mate he’s there every day
This just in, Greg has still yet to finish a regular game on CIV VI.

only 2h a week?
I play 5h during a normal working day each day.
Weekends I can pump that up to 12h a day easily.
