  1. Gee. If only we weren’t the only OECD country to directly pay for our water use, then maybe our homes and businesses might waste less water – perhaps with some kind of metered payment system?

Edit: Sorry. The current system where we continue to pay for inefficient water waste from increased taxes that are needed elsewhere works fine. Should pan out really well under climate change as well.

  2. But what about the farmers, this must be their fault somehow

  3. My sensitive areas are pumping waste water all the time

  4. Our Fine Gael led government will just continue to do what they’ve always done, pay the fines and do fuck all to address Ireland’s horrifically bad environmental record under them.

  5. I always struggle to understand how this kind of thing is just allowed to happen.
Do we not have people whose job it is to make sure waste water isnt just pumped anywhere causing pollution?

  6. Sure, they be pumping shit straight out to the sea where I am. Raw sewage… and not even noticing it happens. Sometimes for days straight..
    North County Fingal…looking at you

  7. OK, but what the F has it got to do with the European Commission?

  8. This is already a huge problem in England. Most of the rivers there are poluted. I was really hoping we are different here and more careful
