One of the major conflicts between Barcelona and Nike is the sale of replica shirts. A Catalan company sells the replica of Barça’s shirt in kiosks and unofficial stores in Barcelona, rest of Spain and in Portugal.
This is done with Nike’s consent and Nike also receives a percentage of the income while Barça do not get anything. In a document signed in 2018, Nike blocked several products on which Barça can get a percentage of the income – Nike considers these replicas as a part of such clothing.
Because of this conflict, Barça filed a lawsuit against Nike, which was temporarily suspended, while Joan Laporta renegotiated new contractual conditions.
