It’s exceedingly difficult to even look up accurate facts about Darfur. Like I just wanted to find out the population to put this statistic into perspective and I couldn’t easily find those details due to the complexity of Darfur.
Surely, we’ll see protests on college campuses any day now….

Can someone explain to me how [Sudan isn’t in a state of IPC level 5 at this point](https://www.ipcinfo.org/ipc-country-analysis/details-map/en/c/1156730/?iso3=SDN)? It looks like the data is there – people are dying of starvation. What is going on with the IPC?
Edit: IPC
The devil came on horseback
Who keeps resurrecting the poor kid
after so many years still no solution to problems of that kind.
You telling me that my UNICEF box I collected 40 years ago didn’t actually solve world hunger? What the heck…
Not Ukraine, not Gaza, nothing to see here. /s
Is anywhere in Eastern Africa able to sustain life? I mean beyond the massive international aid that has gone there, I don’t know that the land can sustain life there even with all of the war and corruption. We can keep sending resources there, but I think no matter what they will be insufficient. I don’t think there are any good answers at this point. The 80’s through the 2000’s seems to have been when the most aid was flowing to the region and from what I have read was it did little beside convince the people to rely on the aid while abandoning traditional farming and livestock husbandry that had kept the area from total collapse… Maybe I am way of base though as I have not kept up to date on what is going on there…
“About 25 million people including 14 million children are in dire need of humanitarian assistance in Sudan,” a group of UN experts reported on Thursday. “We call for increased funding for civil society to assist victims and for humanitarian response to provide life-saving assistance,” they said, warning that the appeal was only 3.1 per cent funded.
Why did I see so many announcement from NGO’s saying that the Gaza food shortage was the worst in the world/decades etc. etc. when there is only 2 million people in gaza?
I don’t need to be convinced that the gaza situation is very bad but lying/exaggerating would only make me dig down my heels further if I wasn’t already convinced of that fact.
Have yet to see a march about this situation. Wonder why?
Not one protest, not one march through the streets of London, New York or any other streets of the world since this catastrophe does not involve the Palestinians. How pathetic!
Israel’s fault I’m sure.
