  1. I go first!

It has come to the options of sleeping without pillows and blankets and eating with my hands, and living without curtains with my already persistent insomnia – or buying about 200eur worth of stuff that I can’t keep or take with me and have to throw away after 2 months, with my internship starting the same day I arrive, and no time for shopping.

The travelling alone takes about 3 hours on a ferry, then 4 more on a train; and I don’t have a car, so I think it is obvious why I can’t just camp out with my own stuff. I am a very small person, and my luggage is proportional as I travel completely alone and tend to lose a lot of stuff in addition.

In other words, the StudentSurvival is closing down for the year and won’t let me order rental stuff (curtains, pillows, blanket, bedsheets, kitchenware) from them unless I go and pick it up RIGHT NOW, and I am in Estonia, so devastatingly, I am not able to do that. I have no one else in the city, and the receiving company (there is no receiving university, as I’m not an exchange student but foreign trainee instead) is people that I do not wish to annoy, lest they still cancel the internship weeks before I was supposed to go.

Is there a storage locker or something that they can put it in for a month? Or some sort of student organisation (besides VOAS, they already said no) that can hold on to it in Vaasa? Any other solution besides filtering OkCupid for Vaasa and chatting up a beautiful stranger to share their corner of the blanket/store stuff for me?

  2. Anyone know of any resteraunts in Helsinki that are accepting foreign Covid passports. Have some friends visiting from Canada on the weekend and want to grab an early dinner. I know I had issues a few months ago when I moved here with my Canadian covid passport so I’d thought I’d ask. Thanks!
