  8. A little relation to the post, but I wanna share something that even most Bulgarians don’t know.

    A handful of villages in the currently occupied territories were settled by Bulgarians in the mid-1800s. Those are not the Bessarabian Bulgarians, but their lesser known cousins, the Tavrian Bulgarians. That’s the area between Berdyansk and Melitopol. I believe that over 20000 Bulgarians are currently under russian yoke, and even here in Bulgaria, we don’t talk about it… God knows what remains of them now…

  10. Oh, I’ve just read the first few words (“Ukrainian MPs raise Bulgarian flags during an official visit…”) and was ready to be ashamed by our another stupid MP, who raised, for example, the wrong flag. Glad that I was wrong.

    Thank you, Bulgary! We know here that you, guys, did a lot for us and we will not forget this. Thank you!

  12. While it’s awesome that this happened, I hate the way media reported it in Bulgaria. They turned the pathos up so badly it matched that from communist times. They don’t usually report Ukrainian news this way. Something is up.
