Surely such a minor plan will not impact international politics in years to come. I feel Germany must insist on it firmly.

I don’t think Germany should have to foot the bill but Poland is also the only country that consistently displayed strategic realism about Putin and didn’t seek to alienate the World Police (TM) over petty insecurities and get themselves increasingly reliant on Russian gas.
So I’d rather see them get interest free loans and special military hardware than anyone else in Europe (besides Ukraine)
