I don’t know why he keeps calling these pledges, rather than policies.
Call them policies and people care less when you eventually u-turn on them.
Pledges are promises, it just means you can’t be trusted on them.
The tories were apparently planning to attack this policy, but that fell apart with today’s debacle. Labour is basically untouchable right now (in the eyes of the electorate), the tories are continually shooting themelseves in the foot, and Labour is without reason watering down policy’s. I just don’t understand why.
This was a good policy, the UK is in desperate need of investment, especially since the tories are cutting it right left and centre. Very disappointing to hear this pledge has been abandoned.
For this coming election I’m expecting Labour to produce a carbon copy of whatever the fuck the Tory manifesto ends up looking like.
I wonder if theyll send out blank pamphlets so you can fill it in yourself and see if you guessed right.
There’s clear blue water between Tory policies and Labour’s Tory policies, don’t let anyone tell you differently.😉
Only asking because of the fun he had telling the world about us getting those shiny new headquarters for us all in Scotland with all those jobs. 30,000 was the number pulled out the hat.
Such a shame because it was all the guy had to sell. That was it, nothing else. That’s why he spent every chance, with every debate, selling it as a definite.
It’s OK Anas mate, the papers and the BBC won’t bother asking you about it. 😉👍
What a surprise, the manifesto of the red tories is getting closer and closer to the manifesto of the blue tories, literally nobody could have seen this coming
Probably smart to ditch the 28 billion price tag. Easily attacked for soundbites when the figure itself doesn’t really mean much
So glad to be stuck on a dying planet with these useless rich arseholes.
What does Starmer actually stand for? He’s already abandoned all ten of his leadership pledges, gone back on policies/stances that are completely unrelated to the current economic situation and now this??
The man is over 20 points ahead in multiple polls yet lacks any political convictions. How does he expect any of the electorate to trust anything he says?
So scared of the Tories – they will sacrifice any policy – no matter how important it is for the country.
And there it is, another ditched pledge, if Kier keeps this up he can scream Bingo before the election starts.
It’s official. The Red Tories have flip-flopped once again. They U-turn almost as much as their Blue Tory counterparts.
Guy from Labour Together has literally just said that the voters are not interested in this argument… seriously?!?
And, quelle surprise, Wark not doing her job again. This time in not asking him about where the funding for his think tank comes from.
Until the election Manifesto is written I don’t pay attention to what any party says it will do, then I judge them by how well they have delivered on their manifesto.
