I (a middle aged man) went to visit my parents at the weekend. My Mum gifted me a seagull along with a box of fish & chips that she had knitted. Not sure what I’m going to do with these but I do rather like them, something about them just makes me smile.

Has anyone else received an usual gift that they’re quite fond of, despite it serving little purpose?

  2. Ahaa I love them 😊 I think is very great gift, and it will help keep in mind for you the constant threat from the seagull population and how we must protect take away food in our life.

    Actually I knitted a pigeon for my daughter for new year gift, she seems to call him a sound like pepeet and they are friends.

  27. These are wonderful! My mum makes novelty presents like this for her brothers every Christmas, for one of them last year she knitted all kind of different sausages, including pigs in blankets and a sausage dog 🤣

  38. Haven’t given them yet but I’m currently learning how to crochet various plants. Gonna make some for myself and then make a bunch for my sister for her new place so she can have some plants she can’t kill!
