  1. Won’t people just shop at Tesco?

I mean strikes only really work if you can hold the public to ransom, otherwise you just end up generating job losses.

ETA: lol. Replying and blocking is just conceeding the argument kiddo.

    >No, not really

Lol, yes, really.. If the customers can just walk then that’s you done. See Rover for details.

  2. Why don’t people strike properly in this country anymore? Down tools and stay out until you get what you’ve asked for.

  3. Headline is technically correct but…

Only one store is striking, and only those that are part of the GMB, which is the minority of those in that particular store, so it will remain open.

  4. >The proposals we put forward include the appointment of an independent third-party organisation to establish the facts regarding GMB’s complaints and report back jointly to both parties.

Sounds like an agreeable proposal on the face of it.

  5. Ok, I’ll go to Aldi then instead, its just round the corner.

  6. Worked at asda for a while, not surprised this is happening. Absolutely awful work culture, shite managers and at least where I was horrendous understaffing & staff turnover. Work quotas are made by someone in a head office and are usually completely insane and undo able in the alotted time.

Health and safety laws were also frequently broken such as not issuing steelies when working on a warehouse floor & getting people to use motorised pallet trucks without training. Due to severe lack of staff there was also virtually no stock inspection leading to expired products sitting sometimes for years.

In my case they failed to properly train me in the first place which compounded the aforementioned issues & they recentlyish axed the day shift and moved into a twilight shift which resulted in stock not being put out and the managers pressuring people to take overtime well past 12pm on virtually every shift. This also had the issue of you were expected to get stock out in the alotted time while having to help customers, clean spills & due to the staffing issues fetch pallets yourself when they were supposed to be laid out already.

Asda also played shits and giggles when trying to turn in notice.

Shit company, shit owners, shit company culture. Unironically better off working at a McDonalds.

  7. 48 hours of customer satisfaction improving… i can hardly wait😳
