Getting out of a hospital bed to go to work is one of the Republicans plank issues.
>They cheated by voting
Republican mantra.
It’s not Democrats’ fault that republicans burned all the math textbooks.
The republican leaning the Hill: “defends”. That’s not defending, that’s called ‘splainin’ to you dumb asses.
Oh boo fucking hoo
If you weren’t doing things that are so radical and ridiculous you can barely pass the measures, this wouldn’t be a problem
He left the hospital early to vote for a bill that Republicans scheduled specifically because he was out. If anything, Republicans should apologize for forcing him to risk his own health to stop their little scheme.
Defended him coming to vote as elected to do so by his constituents? Is there any situation where it would not be acceptable to admit a congress member into the chamber to vote?
WTF is there to defend? He is a sitting member of congress showing up to vote aka doing his job…
I understand that doing your job is a hard thing for Republicans to grasp, but that’s what happened here.
A man did his job. Their minds are blown.
>“We can basically … look at this as a game, unfortunately, and their strategy. And they hid one of their members, waiting to the last minute, watching to see our votes, trying to throw us off on the numbers that we had versus the numbers they had,”
Well that’s some bullshit projection. So Democrats intentionally sent one of their guys to the hospital in order to mess with the numbers on this? Obviously there’s no proof of that, but there is recorded proof that Republicans were the ones “waiting to the last minute” so that one of their members could switch from yes to no to allow the issue to be brought up again.
>Afterward, some Republicans accused Democrats of deceiving GOP leaders by staying silent about Green’s attendance.
Those some Republicans turn out to be Marjorie Greene Taylor. Who should be ignored whenever possible.
Why does he need to defend a vote at all? The Republicans need to defend eliminating proxy voting and using opportune absences to shove their meaningless agenda through.
After McConnell’s two-faced antics in the Senate no Democrat ever has to apologize for their official actions.
It is Rep. Green’s right to be present to vote. And it’s stupid that Democrats had to defend this… because Republicans are somehow blaming them for their own failure… and media is letting them get away with it. Why are media asking Democrats to explain themselves and not asking Republicans why their vote failed?
The GOP are an absolute joke. They have the House majority, yet they had to resort to one member being scheduled for surgery in order to pass impeachment. Yet they couldn’t even do that properly.
These people literally can’t govern, and it’s just a bunch of people who mentally peaked in High School.
Republicans have been pulling shady crap for years. The Democrats don’t owe them shit.
The congressman had a right to cast his vote and came from the freakin’ hospital ASAP when he knew his vote would make a difference. That’s it. That’s all. The republicans can’t govern their way out of a paper bag, so (as always), they’re deflecting.
They did nothing wrong. The republicans tried to play a dirty game and lost. Don’t fuck around if you don’t wanna find out.
What’s there to defend???
Nobody tricked the GOP here, they’re just unreconcileable pieces of shit who can’t legislate or whip votes so they brought an impeachment vote to the floor that they didn’t have the votes for UNLESS a Democrat stayed in the fucking hospital. They knew he was supposed to be in the hospital and that was their plan to get this through — That’s the story
I would remind everyone that back in 2008, Ted Kennedy had to be brought in from the hospital on a guerney in order to break a Republican filibuster. Instead of acknowledging that the Democrats had the votes with Kennedy and dropping the filibuster, they forced him to come in to push a single button.
All republicans are crybaby wusses and cheaters. Go figure they throw a fit when someone turns up to the vote they explicitly scheduled to exclude them.

Republicans: “You can’t vote against us, it’s unfair”
Why does this need a defense?
He does not fucking have to defend anything. The end.
GOP blaming congressman for doing his job?
Yes.
What a stupid framing
Jefferies, probably, “Because fuck em! That’s why!”

That’s a confession if I ever saw one.
