  1. Lord knows I want a Labour government, but I’m sick of this ditching of even centrist, uncontroversial policies. Just what does Labour intend to do? They won’t reverse Tory fuck ups nor do anything progressive. The Tories are slippery bastards and this lack of purpose is inviting them back in at the first opportunity.

  2. Meh, just disarming the Tories as they were gearing up to make climate change a big culture war. We know Labour care a lot more about the environment so doesn’t really change much.

EDIT: LOL! What have I said that’s remotely controversial?

  3. I think we’re genuinely fucked financially and there simply isn’t the money for this.

  4. Just a day ago Starmer said he was “unwavering” in his commitment to this £28bn. I don’t think the nation’s finances have changed that much in 24 hours.

This isn’t being “sensible” or trying not to give the Tory press ammunition. Is it a *The Prestige* situation where there are two Starmers who do alternate days and neither of them can be sure what the other said yesterday?

At this rate Labour will get us infinite renewable energy by hooking Starmer up to the national grid and powering it with his constant u-turns.

  5. I’m in no danger of becoming a Tory, but I can’t pretend I’m able to vote for anything competent or close to what I want representing me.

  6. Does labour have any policies?

Maybe the people of England should just get together and vote lib dem or something, just to see what happens.

  7. Why does this feel like a Roosevelt moment being missed right now?

  8. This gets the attention off Sunak’s transphobia at PMQs, so i expect Tories to be the ‘sources’

  9. Maybe he is going to announce that because of the recent high inflation – it will now be £40bn a year!

  10. Can they stick to anything? Start of the week said ditching. Yesterday said they are not ditching it. Now they are ditching again.

    Fucking useless party.

  11. So tired of this dreary, pessimistic stance from Labour. The country is gagging for something to be optimistic about after 14 years of being rinsed by the disaster capitalists.

Please give us some good news, rather than U-turn after U-turn and endless austerity.
