  10. It already has— there are a number of instances of severe ammunition shortages. The US failure is not the only cause, though, Europe, too, has failed to provide the shells needed.

  30. We can blame the GOP, yes, but I think the rest of NATO is to blame too. They actively underfunded their militaries and had critically low stockpiles for decades. In 2022 only 7 NATO nations hit the minimum defense budget required by the organization.
    They are so dependent on America’s defense umbrella that the combined power of 27 European nations (pre Finland accession) and Canada can’t scrape together enough military aid to help out Ukraine.
