Donald Tusk, the prime minister of Poland, has launched a scathing attack on the US senate after Republicans voted against a bill to provide a $60 billion aid package to Ukraine.
Addressing the Senate’s decision, Mr Tusk wrote on Twitter: “Dear Republican Senators of America. Ronald Reagan, who helped millions of us to win back our freedom and independence, must be turning in his grave today.
“Shame on you.”
The bipartisan bill, which also included measures to tackle immigration at the US border and provide aid Israel was defeated after Republican senators came under pressure to reject it from former president Donald Trump, who wants to attack Democrats over immigration as he seeks another term as president.
Having spent months negotiating the legislation, which many Republicans admitted met more of their demands for tackling illegal immigration than any previous Bill, senators voted 49-50, largely along party lines.
The measure required 60 votes to advance it and Democrats were quick to attack Republicans for their lack of support.
Joe Biden was among the first to do so, saying at a fundraising event in New York he “never thought I’d see something like we are seeing now”.
“[Republicans are] walking away because they’ve got Donald Trump calling and threatening them,” he said.

I feel like Poland will become very important in the near future, for some reason, feels like destiny.
Ukrainians are dying unnecessarily because Trump is mad for power and Republicans are enabling him. I’m not religious but when the consequence of playing politics is people dying in their thousands then surely they’ve all just bought themselves a ticket to hell.

The bill if you choose to read it. Gives aid to Ukraine but allows 5000 illegal aliens to enter the US every day. If it was just a Ukraine bill passed after a border security bill. I promise you it would pass.

I think Donald Tusk is absolutely correct, what the Americans are thinking about I don’t know, they seem to forget that if Putin gets his way and takes Ukraine he will move into Poland, Poland is NATO, so what are the Americans going to do then, “oh we don’t care about Poland we’ll just keep out of it”, perhaps if Russia decides to take Alaska back they may finally wake up, why don’t they open up their eyes and take a good look around, I think it will frighten them what they see!
I am not a Trump fan. I would like to.see him.in jail. What I do.support is laws and spending bills that make sense. Ukraine needs funding. The Border has only got problems because Biden is not enforcing current laws that exist.
Fund Ukraine and tear up the Border bill he wants passed and enforce current immigration laws. That’s what I want

Reagan is the reason no one is compromising on immigration this time. In the 80s, it was promised that if amnesty was given to illegal aliens, there would be stricter enforcement at the border. They got amnesty (turning over CA to the democrats) and then it was revealed that the enforcement promise was a lie. So we ended up with amnesty and more illegal immigration.
Just another reminder that if Biden had actually controlled the border instead of letting over millions of people Ukraine would already have aid.
