  2. Hey you guys…getting the impression this election in Russia might be rigged.

  3. So it looks like he was genuine candidate after all.

What an embarrassing clown shown Russian democracy is.

  4. Well, I’m sure Tucker Carlson is now going to interview him

  5. Why don’t they just let people “vote” whatever they want and then make up the results afterwards?

If they’re going to break all illusions of having free elections, why even bother with them..

  6. The elections would not be fair anyway, so it is a bit boggling why the Putin regime would not allow an opposition candidate to lose with enough leeway to work as an escape valve and allow to internally measure discontent. So the regime must think the risk of an anti-war popular candidacy to mobilize opposition outweigh the gains? Does this mean a recognition of fragility? I don’t know.

  7. As a Russian who signed for him, it is of course a little sad, although it is absolutely expected.

The main thing now is not to give up and look for other loopholes for the possible expression of our’s position, and most importantly, not to lose faith and hope in the best.

  8. Well i will continue with the thermobaric explosives in the railways

    /s (or it is?)

  9. The fact that they are not allowing the opposition to even participate shows how uncertain the zarist regime is of the approval they have from the population.

They may claim the war is popular but things like this seem to show that that popularity may very well be either be fake, or coming from indifference more than a real support for it.

Too bad the russian population is not brave enough to really stand up against it.

  10. Damn, it seems that it is easier to write a doctoral thesis on dark matter than to “correctly” submit an application to apply for russian presidency.

  11. When your own plant gets popular enough that you need to ban them. Hilarious. Russia can’t do anything right.

  12. I suppose he can take in some comfort that he’s not being pushed out of the window.

  13. Disabled home no. 682 is going to unanimously vote for Putler again I guess 😬

  14. Just to be clear: any russian opposition simply wants to take Putin’s place but they are not in opposition to him ideologically and will pursue the same domestic and foreign policies.

  15. You guys don’t understand. Putin’s secretary already stated a year ago that Putin has been elected already. 🤡 show.

  16. How a single Russian can believe that Russia is a proper country is beyond me

  17. Surely tucker Carlson will ask about this and other wrongdoings of the Putin totalitarian regime… Right guys?

  18. Russian here.

What this shows is the fragility of the regime. This time it wasn’t famous opposition leaders that got banned from running. An unknown journalist from a small city, and Boris, who most people had zero idea about two months ago.

Turns out, even this is too risky for Putin. He likely realises that the Russian society is being suffocated to such an extent that any breath of fresh air, any anti-war candidate regardless of who he or she is, is a threat to him. And that’s the interesting thing – who the candidate is doesn’t matter at all, as long as they are anti-war. They are primarily a way for the Russian people to express their anti-war sentiment.

  19. Russia is turning from a dictatorship to the United States of Borat

  20. Ah, we’re still pretending there’s democracy in Russia.

  21. Not being able to participate is not a bad outcome, considering the alternatives.

Strielkov just got 4 years in prison.

    Or you know, casuall defenestration.

  22. I am shocked at the fact I am shocked I could be shocked from this news.

  23. So calling for referendums in conquered ukrainian territories and calling ukrainians “russian people” didn’t work and he is now fool twice, humilated himself and got rejected

  24. Russia’s ‘election’ process aside, Nadezhdin is not an ‘anti-war’ candidate. He is another typical good Russian sandwich type that wants to keep the occupied territories and does not recognize Ukraine’s sovereignty over its borders, so nothing of value is lost with him getting banned from ‘elections’.

People need to internalize one simple fact: anti-Putin does not mean anti-imperialism. This is just a *good cop, bad cop* kind of manipulation technique, where the only difference between the sides is the way they want to get something from you. Both are still cops.

And no, this doesn not show Putin is weak and gonna fall any day now. This kind of talk is decades long. This only shows Putin has a mandate to do whatever he wants and there’s no meaningful opposition anywhere. Deleting your competition is a power move, not a weakness move.

  25. Russian here.

The guy is genuine, I know him personally since I play the guitar and he does too, he visited a local gag of “guitar players” that I was present at back in 2016. I’m from Moscow region as well as him, the oblast. Had a talk with him, he was against annexation of Crimea when it was unpopular back in the day.

I have my acquaintances in Russian politics and the guy had no approval from the president administration whatsoever. Last year he tried to become governor of Moscow Oblast and failed to collect signatures as well. He’s a former ally of Boris Nemtsov.

The thing is, he isn’t afraid because he doesn’t have any properties, real estate or else and he knows exactly what needs to be said according to the Russian law. So everything will be ok with him. The kremlin did not expect him to collect signatures so yeah.

Seen other opinions about Duntsova being geniune and it’s likely true. Duntsova actually supported Nadezhdin.

  26. How long until he is declared a foreign agent, arrested, and convicted for terrorism or some other ludicrous charge.

  27. Well of course. They already have all of the “congratulations Putin” materials ready. It would be a waste to have to change it

  28. You are a young man Nadezhdin and have your whole life ahead of you

  29. The charade continues. I mean, what’s the point? Literally nobody believes this country has a sliver of democracy or self-government, so why keep up this game?

Just name him Czar Putin and be done with it.

  30. I can’t believe this is happening. I mean people thinking that anyone else has a chance to even participate.

  31. I start to think that there is some issues with the Russian election’s

  32. It wouldn’t stop Russian shills and useful idiots from claiming Putins election was fair.
