    Someone alluded to the above earlier by way of linking to a Twitter thread with the above footage, in addition to reactions to it.

    Surely it’s important to listen to another view, especially one drawn from a Palestinian with a degree of lived experience to draw upon and inform their commentary on the issue.

    It’s possible to see misdeeds of both regimes. Call them out and wish for a better future for everyone involved.

    Hamas are far from the bastions of peace, enlightenment or tolerance some seem to naively perceive them to be. 

    The Israeli government by estimations of a growing number of isrealis has lurched too far to the right and allowed the unspeakable atrocities of October 7th to derange them to a degree the heavy handed Marauders their most seasoned critics have always characterized them as being seems to bear greater weight than it would otherwise in broader political sphere.

    Not sure what the resolution is. Listening to people like the young women who lent her voice to that conference (and other perspectives) is probably the only way to forge a nuanced and mutually agreeable framework of peace and lasting stability for the broader region.

  6. I wonder how much tax in total has been paid over the last decades by the people now protesting a party who is outright vocal about Israel’s genocide. Tax which has directly funded Israel’s genocide. Have they all quit their jobs in line with their view that the only way to protest is to cause detriment to your own interests? Avoided tax and gone to jail for it? Or is it just social media yapping about Sinn Féin?

    You’d think SF were supportive of Israel. They’re not. They’re going to Washington and making the St Patrick’s Day shite all about Gaza. Disagree with the strategy all you want, but don’t make out like it’s tacit support of Israel or their supporters. They’re not protesting the actual people who support Israel here. They’re not outside DUP offices. This is just holier than thou types, drenched in hypocrisy.

  8. Being from Palestine doesn’t mean it’s okay to support Hamas and go around wearing keffiyeh screaming in the middle of events that we’re not picking a radical enough “Side.”. There is no singular reason that we should allow Hamas to be the government of Gaza.
