[GdS] For the renewal of Lautaro Martinez, around 2 million are at stake: €8M + bonus proposed, €10M + bonus requested. Optimism remains intact, the desire to renew is clear on both sides (the contract expires in 2026)! Lautaro is valued at 150 million by Inter.

  1. If Marotta and Ausilio fumble this, there will be riots in Milan.

  2. Calha is highest paid on 6.5 currently. 10 + bonus is extremely high and will fuck our wage structure in the long term, if all the other players request a raise to match Lautaros.

It also is, unless he will get poached by another team, the biggest contract of his career, because he is just below the peak (should turn 27 in August iirc) and for a 5 year contract that actually makes sense for him to request that much.

  3. Two millions is huge money for us, and I also understand why would he ask for that amount.

I don’t see this ending well soon, maybe because we’ve seen it happen already, maybe because I tend to see the glass always half empty.

True, there’s still plenty of time left, but if we don’t renew by the end of this season it would be extremely wise to cash out in the summer transfer before losing another strong player for nothing.

  4. Fuck it, give him 8 and give him possible bonuses to 12 if he makes some insane contributions. That’s what I’d recommend.

  5. Honestly? Fuck off.
All reports have always been around 7-7.5M per year, now that he is finally playing a full season with consistency for the first time he comes immediately asking for insane wage that would fuck the entire wage structure of the club?

We pushed to 8M, which is 33% more than all other key players of the club like basto, bare and chala. That’s more than enough, especially considering that lauti is very good but not essential to our game style like other players

We cannot afford to go beyond 8, everyone else will be banging on the door asking for 1-2M more, multiplied for 10-15 players that’s like 30M or more increase in squad cost and we cannot afford this at all

If he cannot accept this and the 8M maybe he is not that in love with the club just like others that we have seen before and we better get him going ASAP while he is still valuable

  6. A reliable number 9 is very rare these days, and it’s good for Inter’s culture and future fans to have a long-standing champion like him. The question is, at what point does it not become worth the cost?
