Not sure why they referenced catholic specifically here. They’re all at it. We should be pointing and laughing at them all
Can we send groups to protest these churches every Sunday morning then? Somehow i feel certain they would call that harassment.
Well, you can see how the Catholic church would be concerned – abortion narrows their victim pool…
If theists can’t refrain from trying to force their relgious belifs onto others, maybe its time to reign in theisim.
i wouldnt expect anything less, especially from the Catholic Church. Altar boy anyone.
But I was told on this very sub 2 days ago when I said that Catholic churches in Scotland were participating in this that I was an idiot and this was all an American import. I was shouted down by LOADS of people saying all these protestors were American Evangelicals flying over here and protesting and that Scotland would never, ever, under any circumstances, have our own grassroot crazies.
I imagine a lot of the same people rabidly downvoting me and arguing with me in the comments the other day are here in this thread and are now ready to apologise?
The Catholic Church has been just as guilty of encouraging this shit as American Evangelicals (although usually a bit more lowkey about it) for decades and decades. Long before the American culture war shite started to seep in over here.
Fucking hell, was the catholic churches reputation not already bad enough?
This sort of stuff is just gonna speed up religions losing their tax-free priviledges.
To be fair “The church will look after your kids” stopped being reassuring about 20 years ago
The Catholic church doing something like this, well I never…
Organised religions are absolutely fine and lovely
As long as you hammer them with an iron fist the second they step out of line by even a fraction of an inch
I was lucky enough to be born into a Scotland where all those battles had already been fought and won
But the long aftermath of all that head-fuckery was still there in the weird hang-ups of my parents’ generation
And especially in my lovely grandparents, who had never gone to church a day in their lives, as far as I know
But lived in mortal terror that they must have done *something* wrong and were going to burn in Hell for eternity because of it

Could complain to OSCR? Most catholic dioceses are registered charities and presume they are the payer of this ?
They never left the Dark Ages.
