Ever since I landed my first job in Switzerland, I spoke English in the office. Nevertheless, I’m learning German and speak somewhat fluent French, also planning to take some Mundart crash course (next year, probably). Personally, I only see benefits in speaking more languages.

I’m working in IT, almost all documentation is in English, it feels weird when it’s on french. Also I spend my days on Reddit/English YouTube, so I’d say yeah
Crazy how a quarter of a village in tax heaven speaks english. Who could have thought of that.
Personally, english plays a big role as I’m studying to become a teacher and I don’t see it as a bad thing at all that it’s becoming more important.
Not where I live, pretty much my entire life is conducted in Italian.
English is very useful when I travel to Zürich because I only speak French and Italian but not German. I’m taking the German classes at night to try escape the amazing Ticino job market though lmao
I think improved English fluency can only bring benefits though. I don’t want to see it replacing national languages, but it’s great to use as a way to bridge some linguistic divides. You can’t expect people to be fluent in all 3 official languages.
