YOY increase: +7%
Increase since 2021: +55%
As we can see in the picture, oul’ Pat has gotten a bit shneaky this year listing a discount on all their delicious food options and removing a price.
Selling my chicken wrap for €5.50 voucher if anyone is interested. €10 no offers. I know what I got.

consider the rise in electricity and other thing for bushiness in surprised its not more
I made a fortune margin trading chicken wrap futures.
Love the way they stuck ONLY when it jumped up in price
Blame the Government’s lack of financial insight when it comes to the food industry in Ireland, there is no one else to blame as they have all the taxes and want more, more government, less choice. I’m delighted I don’t have a restaurant anymore, because I’m fecked if I’m giving them another cent.
We’re a nation addicted to rubbish food. Takeaways prices keep going up and up and up and no-one is putting their foot down. They’re getting away with it. Same goes for 90% of the muck you get in delis, like those mangy wraps and scabby sandwiches.
We just like our garlic cheese chips and chicken fillet rolls too much.
^^^A ^^^chicken ^^^fillet ^^^roll ^^^stuffed ^^^with ^^^garlic ^^^cheese ^^^chips, ^^^hmm…..
Jesus €2 jump in one year’s a bit cheeky alright…
I’m glad you found another way to track inflation.
In Economics, globally, we use the Big Mac Index, since a Big Mac is the same everywhere. Its an unofficial way of measuring but gives a decent indicator.
That 2021 to 2022 jump is naaaaaaaaassshhhtttyyy
Edit: https://www.economist.com/big-mac-index
A link for those doubting Thomasi out there 😉
Edit (2): Yes, it’s used for looking at currency exchanges but we also use it for looking at inflation in each country: comparing country to country
Not worth the price.
Is it €8.50 after the €2 discount?
I used to order from Papa Johns in supermacs as it was the only pizza place near me.
Found an online recipe from 2022 when ordered with the via Deliveroo (so there was an increase to their base price already) and ordered the same last week.
Price has gone up by 3€ for the same order in two years, delivery is now 4.50€ and the pizza is smaller.
Won’t be going back anytime soon and really they have proved themselves out of a long term customer with their greed.
Lucky enough I have the Hungry Lyons close to me, which is supermacs food, but better value and I know my money is not going to that bollox McDonagh
Another place to avoid. You probably get about 10 chips in the meal then
You lost me at ‘delicious food options’.
Option A: Track miniscule changes in prices.
Option B: Use your limited time on this earth to do interesting things.
I don’t understand people who take Option A.
This is just like those Revolution self service laundry stations. They used to be €4/€6/€2 for 8kg, 18kg and 15min drying respectively. They hiked it up to €5/€7/€3, then shortly after it got €6/€8/€4, I think now it’s at €8/€10/€5 and they’ve just completely removed the pricing and you have to see what the screen asks you to pay. Less work for them to keep hiking up the prices.
Funny how nobody here ever complains about the price of vegetables. It’s always fast food and sweets and carbonated stuff in plastic bottles.
If we – as a society – were serious about health, then fast food outlets and processed foods would be taxed to the max and the taxes would be diverted to reducing the costs of real food and making it a more attractive and affordable option.
But we’re not.
That’s why we’re the second fattest country in Europe and why every roundabout with a petrol station has a fast food counter and enough sweet counters to give diabetes to a small nation.
Supermacs should be taxed to fuck.. the same way cigarettes are.
People complain but they still pay these prices . Only way to reduce prices is to take your business elsewhere. No point posting a pic of your chicken fillet roll for 6.80 and a big rant about prices.
Put the fucking roll down at the till and tell them you’re not paying 6.80 for a chicken fillet roll and walk out the door. If 4 or 5 people a day do that in every shop in Ireland the prices wont be long coming down.
It breaks my heart but I don’t bother with convenience food anymore. It’s terrible value for money. You’ll get 2 main courses for 20euro midweek in my local hotel in Galway and almost every pub will do you a soup and sandwich deal at lunchtime for 6-8euro.
20 euro wont feed 2 people in a chipper nowadays and 6euro wont even get you a few jambons and a bag of wedges.
A Roll , Taytos and a bottle of coke is 10euro nowadays. Over 5euro of that is pure profit for the shop. We need to make a stand. Enough is enough.
