1. Zaluzhniy making a show of friendship with those hugs. Whether he agrees with Zelensky’s decision to replace him or not I don’t know, but it’s important to show unity and support at this time, and Zaluzhniy makes the effort for the good of Ukraine

2. those hugs tell everything. One relieved of the burden, the other relieved of pressure for the moment looking forward plus the obvious mutual respect. And some smiles too.

8. I think what made Zaluzhniy so famous apart from a extremely well handled defense of Kyiv and other key areas is that he seems like a man that can rally his troops and motivate them but also like a guy you could fishing with and laugh around while having a few beers.

   I can see that he will tell people when his opinion differs even butt heads if needed.

   We will see what Syrskyi can do on his new position, hes not as beloved as Zaluzhniy but he also has left his mark on this war.

   I just hope that under the new management they stop with the hold to the last man ideology if they know they are about to be encircle but it seems that this is less likely as Syrsky was already tasked with the costly Bachmut defense ordered by Selensky

10. I am starting to believe Pres. Zelenskyy has something big planned for Zaluzhniy.

    What if the rumors of infighting are just a facade to hide some secret new operation or secret new army division.

    Zelenskyy is obviously a student of history, he often cites leaders of the Allies forces of WWII.

    Just like General Eisenhower kept his best commander, Paton, in reserve only to unleash him at the right moment, maybe Zelenskyy has a big plan to bring back Zaluzhniy at the moment the Russians will not expect him.

    **Remember what Zelenskyy said: The entire war hinges on Ukraine liberating Crimea.**

    Well, Budanov is busy blowing stuff up in Russia, Syrskiy will be busy managing the frontline, which liberates Zaluzhniy for something else.

    That something else might just be Crimea.

    If Ukraine liberates Crimea, Putin will be greatly weakened. It is the fastest way to end the war.

11. Zaluzhniy a perfect candidate for speaking to the world about Ukraine’s military needs and could be quite useful in this role freeing up Zelensky for other matters.

12. The more I thought about it the more I am starting to get behind this move as a good idea. Zaluzhniy recently published an op-ed about reorganizing the Ukrainian economy around wartime R&D to out tech the Russians which was very innovative and thoughtful. The problem is that’s not a vision you can implement while you’re wrapped up in the tactical aspects of a war.

    I expect to see Zaluzhniy very involved in the civilian reorganization towards a full wartime economy. I don’t think anyone should reasonably look at this as a demotion.
