This is a golden opportunity to both destroy Russia’s war economy and save the environment:
>Russia’s Tuapse refinery on the Black Sea will not resume operations until March, sources have said, citing damage from a Ukrainian drone attack.
>Other incidents affecting Russia’s energy infrastructure could also lead to additional oil exports in February, traders say. Drones attacks have damaged the Ust-Luga and Volgograd refineries in the Baltic and southern Russian in recent days.
There are several fundraisers for those drones.
Doesn’t seem like a very long outage. At any rate, global oil use/supply is limited by refinery capacity. Ukraine war consumes 3% of global diesel, and is responsible for elevated refinery margins on diesel globally. OPEC is very grateful for the war, and is unlikely to be upset by any temporary crude exports from Russia. They would be upset by lower global refining capacity.
