Could it be that American birds have finaly come to Ukraine after all? 🇺🇸🦅
Glory to the pilots of Ukraine, good training and glorious hunting 🔱🇺🇦
I hate to rain on any parades, but as a real fighter pilot, temper your expectations. 24 F-16s (or 48 or even every non-US F-16 in Europe) is not a “game changer/war-winner” in either quantity or capability, unfortunately. Despite all the “where air defense” memes, the skies are still a very dangerous place, especially at the front lines.
The advantages here are threefold:
1) brand new logistics source for non-Russian equipment which is largely running out
2) Easier integration of NATO weapons, although we’ve gotten good at jury rigging them, trust me
3) (tied to 1) relieves the burden on existing MiGs and Sukhois for air defense
What I expect most of these to be doing is hunting drones and missiles behind the front lines, which is largely what the UAF does now. Don’t really expect these to be making a huge shift in the ground war.
Sincerely, your favorite, pro-Ukraine, internet fighter pilot.
In Romania (for the moment)
That is a NATO hardened aircraft shelter (HAS) in the background and they only exist in NATO countries. (I worked in one for 10 years)
