Bus has a better floor than my flat
I got on a 353 for the first time on Thursday and it had this floor. Every seat had its own stop button and a USB charging port.
The screen at the front wasn’t a dot-matrix either, it was an LCD that shows all the stops on it, and where you are.
I was like, damn, we living in the future.
Part of TfL’s “future bus” specification which was kickstarted by a successful trial on the 63 in where all operators should include high back seats, usb charging, wood vinyl flooring, enchanted passenger displays (ibus) and skylights. The operator GoAhead London has also chosen to go ahead here and add some LED strips under the panels which is a neat touch.
So they can afford to lay quality flooring on public buses to puke piss and shit all over, but can’t help with housing crisis…
