The F-16 exceeded the expectations of Ukrainian pilots during the exercises, — Ukrainian pilot, callsign “Phantom”.
He shared some of his thoughts with Voice of America:
▪️Western instructors speak highly of Ukrainian pilots, saying that “Ukrainian pilots are very skilled” and extremely motivated.
▪️The stage of retraining Ukrainians on the F-16 is proceeding as planned. Not only pilots are being trained, but also ground personnel, mechanics, and support units — “a pilot or technician is a small cog in a big system.”
▪️Ukrainian pilots are “very impressed”. The F-16 has simply exceeded their expectations.
▪️”The F-16 is a new generation aircraft, a more digitalized aircraft, with many systems and programs that need to be introduced during and before the flight.”
▪️The retraining program is the same whether it is in the United States, Denmark, Greece, or Turkey as the partners have discussed and agreed upon it.
▪️”By the time the F-16s are ready to be delivered to Ukraine, the infrastructure will be ready, as will our people.”
Can’t wait to see our amazing pilots flying the F-16s in the Ukrainian sky!

Quick question, will F16 be able to counter the platforms that deliver FAB bombs?
I bet the pilot that had almost 400 missions that was killed recently would have thrived in an F-16 🙁
This isn’t “Ukrainian media” – this is Voice of America, Ukraine edition.

They have some independence, but I’d still assume that this reduces the risk of the photo giving away information that the government(s) involved do not want shared. (I’m surprised nobody has posted a geolocation yet, but I’m reasonably sure that the hangar and ground patterns make it trivial for Russian intelligence to figure out where it is. There’s probably some analyst who looked at the photo and immediately recognized the base…)
I understand that it’s not important at all but I was hoping for more than two tiny stickers.
Looks lonely, needs more company
Blue skies and good hunting!

Anyone have a breakdown of what we see being carried?
I can make out an AMRAAM (probably inert for training) on the wingtip, looks like a Sidewinder training round, some kind of sensor (IRST?), and a fuel tank.
